In this early edition of his weekly address, President Obama says he'll be spending Thanksgiving at the White House like many Americans: "This is a day full of family and friends; food and football."
"It’s a day to fight the overwhelming urge to take a nap – at least until after dinner," President Obama said. "But most of all, it’s a time to give thanks for each other, and for the incredible bounty we enjoy."
The President will enjoy his Thanksgiving feast with the First Family and inlaws, friends from Chicago and Hawaii, and White House staff and their families. The Obama Thanksgiving menu.
"On behalf of the Obama family – Michelle, Malia, Sasha and Bo – I want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving," President Obama said.
On Wednesday, President Obama pardoned two very lucky turkeys, and visited a DC area food bank to distribute Thanksgiving groceries.
The President has no public events scheduled through Sunday.
